Judo Auckland University Judo AND BJJ

It has been a long time coming! The (formerly) Auckland University Judo Club have expanded and are now pleased to announce that BJJ classes are now on offer Tuesday and Thursday from 6 pm to 7.30 pm. BJJ black-belt instructors, (Professor) Stuart Mitchell and Serge Morel, are offering classes under the aegis of Douglas Santos BJJ. Classes cost $10 per class (no contract required). For further details please contact Stu at bjjweb@stuartmitchell.com (or via Mobile: 021 441 331). Also see: http://www.aucklandbjj.com

The good professor has been studying Judo for a number of years now. He has competed, as part of New Zealand Judo Masters team at the All Japan Masters. Stu has a very technical ground game and is a competent teacher (read he can actually explain what he does). He is also uniquely positioned to offer BJJ for Judo players—bringing the best of BJJ back into a “sport” that often turned it’s back on ground work. He can also teach Judo fundamentals to BJJ/MMA fighters. Here, at Auckland University Judo & BJJ we're of the mind that the two arts CAN work together for mutual benefit. If you want to know more about the complementary nature of the two read this.

New players are welcome, so too are Judoka from other clubs who want to develop their newazza.
